Our students recently had the opportunity to share their thoughts on the OK FineArts Grant we received for the 2024–2025 school year. Now it's your turn!
We invite all Heavener Elementary families to provide feedback on how this grant made a difference in our school and how we can continue to grow our Fine Arts programs.
Thank you Heavener for making today's fundraising event for the Linville family a great success. Thank you to all the HPS staff that came and supported, worked, and served today. Thank you to Heavener FBC, and Pastor Brock for smoking the pulled pork (it was delicious) and to Donnie and LaDonna Killions Sunday School class for the funds and donations of products for today's event. Thank you to Melissa Hamner and her ladies from the cafeteria for all they did in preparations and service in the kitchen. Thank you to everyone that came out and helped make this event a wonderful success. We truly are blessed as a community.

We hosted a special incentive for our K-5 students to motivate them to do their best on the reading benchmark test. The top reader and the student with the most growth from each class were invited to the celebration. We are incredibly proud of the tremendous reading progress our students have made.
Did you know HPS has a dedicated and experienced group of administrators on our incredible HPS administrative team? With a combined 193 years in education and 143 years as school administrators, their experience and dedication are a true asset to Heavener Schools. We are grateful for Superintendent Ed Wilson, Elementary Principal Keli Cartwright, Mid-Level Principal Jeremy Dyer, High School Principal Grant Ralls, and High School Assistant Administrators Brian Terry and Janie Hairell. We are committed to offering our students hands-on learning experiences in addition to traditional pencil-and-paper activities. This balanced approach benefits students by making learning both engaging and effective. While they perceive these activities as fun games, they are actually enhancing critical thinking skills such as executive brain function.
Mrs. Stinson’s Spanish class took their learning beyond the classroom with a visit to El Celaya! Students had the opportunity to practice their Spanish by ordering meals and interacting with the restaurant staff—all in Spanish. ¡Buen trabajo! #alphalearning
