Today, the Heavener High School Business Professionals of America (BPA) chapter proudly took 40 students to an exciting College and Career Awareness Day event at ONEOK Field in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The event offered students a unique opportunity to hear about a variety of careers in the sports industry.
At the Career Day, students listened to professionals from different sectors of the sports industry, including management, marketing, broadcasting, and operations. They gained valuable insights into the skills and qualifications needed to succeed in these fields, as well as advice on how to navigate the professional world of sports.
This experience was invaluable for our students, and it opened their eyes to the diverse career opportunities that exist beyond the playing field. It’s our hope that some of them are now considering careers they hadn’t thought of before.
Following the career presentations, the students enjoyed a thrilling baseball game between the Tulsa Drillers and the San Antonio Missions. The outing provided a fun and educational day, allowing students to see firsthand how various roles within sports organizations come together to create a successful event.

The bookfair is coming to Heavener Elementary, Sept. 10th & 11th for PK & K and Sept. 12th - 19th for grades 1st-8th.
