Very proud of these awesome young men and women. Worked out and ran hard since June and the results paid off. Your state qualifiers were led by gold medalist Steven Cruz and silver medalist Seth Lynch. Other state qualifiers Isaac Cook, Jonathon Lira, Abel Carrizales, David Castillo, and Adam Gavina. This will be Jonathon and David's 3rd trip to state in xc and Steven's 2nd. Shout out to the Cooks, Castillos, Liras, and Lynchs, for making the trip and cheering on these kids. Great job to all these athletes as we competed today in Chickasha at the 28th annual Junior High Championships. Over 300 runners in the 3A race and our kids ran well. On the ladies side Raven Dean was our only medalist but we are also proud of Shonia Rodriguez, Catalina Vasquez, Angeles Carmargo, Kelsea Sharp, Kanan Summers, Valeria Sanchez for representing us well. On the men's side top 10 as a team with Brandon Sanchez winning a medal. Brayan Hernandez was 1 sec away from one as well. Galaad Garcia-Perez, Giovanni Martinez, Diego Cruz, Hernan Alvarado, Joseph Velasquez, and Benjamin West represented Heavener well. It was a great time and thank you to all the parents that drove 4 hours to show their support. See everyone at Wright City Monday.
