Wolf Nation, as basketball gets going full force this week please remember that the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Association (OSSAA) has implemented a new policy regarding the behavior of coaches, players, and spectators during athletic events. Under these guidelines, the season can be canceled for a team or an individual following two "egregious" acts of unsportsmanlike conduct, this includes being ineligible from participating in the playoffs. Examples include fighting among players or fans, constant verbal attacks of officials, and the use of inappropriate or demeaning chants rom the sideline or stands.

Brackets for Monroe Tournament where our fourth, along with fifth and sixth boys and girls are taking part in.

WARNER – Heavener’s new wrestling squad had a good outing in their first tournament at Warner.
Of Heavener’s 13 wrestlers, eight played. Several others won matches, but came up short of placing according to Coach Jack Armstrong.
First-place winners were Gracie Springfield, Alex Armstrong and Jace Moore. Jerami Casteel finished second, Logan Hetherington, Bryson Place and Omar Cruz were third and Maddox Heflin was fourth.

Wolves split with Wister
By CRAIG HALL
WISTER – Wister’s girls held on down the stretch to defeat Heavener for the first time in a number of years while the Wolves were in control for most of the contest against the Wildcats.
Girls
Heavener played like a team playing its first game with a relatively inexperienced team against Wister. The Lady Wildcats took the lead in the second quarter, let Heavener climb back to within two points in the third quarter on a layup by McKinley Alexander, then outscored the Lady Wolves, 6-2, down the stretch to seal the win.
Wister improves to 2-2 and visits Talihina Nov. 29. Heavener is 0-1 and is scheduled to play at Poteau, also Nov. 29, but the game will likely be postponed as the Pirates’ football team is still in the playoffs.
Heavener has three players foul out and shot 10 fewer free throws than Wister.
Senior McKinley Alexander led Heavener with 15 points. Kinley Branscum and Kinzie Duncan both had nine points to led the Lady Wildcats.
Boys
Heavener’s boys jumped out to a big lead early, allowed Wister to trim the deficit below double figures in the third quarter before holding on to down the Wildcats.
Heavener is 1-0 while Wister is 2-2.
Bryce Morrison had a big game for the Wolves, scoring a game-high 19 points for Heavener. C.J. Halford led Wister with 16 points.
