Heavener plays the Stigler Panthers Friday, October 27th at Harvey Stadium. This will be the first home game for the Wolves in four weeks. This will also be band royalty week. Stigler is 6-2 this season and ranked 29th in their class. While Stigler has a winning record, they are 1-2 in District games and 2-2 in road games. Heavener will have to be cautious of Stigler’s explosive offense that scored about 35 points a game. With an average of 310 rushing yards per game and 160 passing yards per game. One area where Heavener is evenly matched is on defense. On defense, both teams average 1.4 sacks per game, with Caleb Smith averaging one sack and 9.6 tackles a game. One player Heavener will need to focus on is the Panthers running back, Garret Brooks. He averages 215 rushing yards per game, 238 total yards per game, and 19.5 points per game. On offense, Connor Place is averaging 64.1 total yards per game and Ross McGee is only averaging 8.6 passing yards per game. If Heavener can find a way to step up on offense and the defense can stop the Stigler’s high powered offense, then they might have a chance to get their first win of the season.
