The FFA Show season has been underway for a couple of weeks now with the county show coming up on the 29th of February at the Poteau show barn. Senior Kylee Free has shown since her tenth-grade year. During this season she is showing two pigs one is a purebred Berkshire and the other is a cross. When asked how she prepares for a show she states “besides the walking and washing and cleaning after my pigs, I have to pack buckets of feed, wash supplies, and stuff to spray on the pigs and my show clothes.”
Kylee’s first show of the season she won first in her class and Breed Reserve Berkshire and has placed very high at all the other shows she has been to, so her season so far has been a good one. When asked which show is her favorite she says “ the county show is probably the most fun because after going in for the sell lineup there’s so much going on. You might be having to show 4 or 5 peoples pigs because they are already in the ring trying to get in the lineup. It’s chaotic but fun.” Also when asked what showing has taught her she states “ Showing has taught me to be more outgoing. You can’t really hide when you’re in a ring showing.”
