Sabrina Dyer is a Heavener Junior High teacher. Mrs. Dyer has always loved working with kids and came from a family of teachers that made her value education. From an early age, she had considered becoming a teacher. She recently switched from a musical arts teacher to an Advanced English teacher, she hasn’t taught reading in 10-11 years. She’s enjoyed venturing back into teaching these subjects. She enjoys reading a lot on her spare time. In her classroom, she likes to balance out between being a strict and understanding teacher. “I strongly believe in building relationships with students, so I sincerely try to LISTEN to what is going on in their worlds and make decisions in an understanding manner,” she says. She has learned that the world is changing so she has to change the way she teaches. Such as the Jr. High got Chromebooks and are doing their work online, but she absolutely loves them. The best part of her job she says “is always going to be the students and educating our youth.”
